Second Person

HAPPY PLACE

Your eyes are closed, and your bare feet are planted on the ground. Grass curls around your ankels welcoming you back. It has been too long. Warmth seeps into your body as rays . Salt floats in the air, and clings to your tonunge. The fimilar taste is comforting. The sands journey from the beach is short, but yet it sleeps inbetween the cracks. Not even winds encourgement can get it to make the joreny home.

You can hear the trees whisper too each other. they too rember the stories, which were once sharde in this garden. Your days as an explorer and a pirate

Crashing and tumbling of waves can be heard and you can just imagine the frothy green seaweed dance in the water. In and out, in and out.

.. The fimilarity of it all insatlls a sense of calm into you. Your feet have a mind of their own, they take you deeper.

Your eyes open.

Your eyes are closed, and your bare feet are planted on the ground. Grass curls around your ankles, welcoming you back. It has been too long. Salt floats in the air and clings to your tongue. The familiarity of the taste is comforting. Crashing and tumbling of waves can be heard. You can just imagine the frothy green seaweed dance in the water. In and out, in and out. The sand’s journey from the beach is short, yet it slumbers quietly on the ground. Not even encouragement from the wind can get it to return home. The trees whisper to each other; they too remember the stories, which were once shared in this garden. Your days as an explorer and a pirate may be long behind you, but you still feel the energy bubbling inside of you. It calls you, edges you forward, wanting you to follow it.

Your eyes open. Grey and sad looks the sky, and it too is disappointed at what it sees. Harsh wooden houses have invaded this sacred space. Concrete, stones and rubbish suffocate the wondering sand. Now trapped and unable to move. The small patch of grass
